Favorite spot in Pittsburgh?

The Bloomfield pool (which I affectionately call the beach) is one of my favorite places to spend our August break. I also love to get an iced latte and read at White Whale bookstore or Ineffable Cà Phê.

How long have you worked at City High?

I am in year 3!

I work with the other Cultural Literacy teachers to pull students, run small groups, and deliver instruction.

What initially drew you to City High?

During my interview, Ms. DeLaRosa told me, “We work really hard here. We fight every battle.” While that answer may not typically be what you want to hear in a job interview, I found the honesty refreshing–and I appreciated that she wanted to push students and staff to be their best.

What do you love most about working at City High?

I love team teaching. Teaching can feel so isolating in other schools, but here you always have someone to bounce ideas off of. A great team lightens the mental load immensely and makes everything more fun!

Best advice for City High students?

Keep a sweater in your locker and make smart decisions.
