City Charter High School, a public 9-12 charter school, located in downtown Pittsburgh is looking to hire a full-time Technology Manager.  The Technology Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all technology-related systems, policies, and platforms for approximately 90 staff members and 550+ students, supporting staff members with technical issues, and ensuring data integrity across a number of school information systems.  Salary Range: $70,000 to $89,500; Negotiable based on experience.  In addition, City High provides a generous benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, an attendance incentive and a 401k retirement program.

Technology Manager Job Description

City Charter High School is seeking a motivational individual to lead and direct the student transition process from high school to postsecondary education or work.  Design and manage the protocol to systematically provide services that ensure every graduate will transition appropriately.  Help facilitate the development of individual student college and career plans in coordination with a student’s teacher advisor, learning support teacher (where relevant), career teacher, parent/guardian, and other relevant professionals. Provide necessary support to enhance opportunity for success the year following high school graduation. 

Qualifications
A college degree and 3 – 5 years working in secondary education, college/postsecondary admissions, or comparable field are required. A master’s degree in secondary education, counseling or pupil personnel services is preferred. A track record of developing or working effectively within a successful guidance program. Additional qualifications noted below.

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a science teacher who is familiar with scientific modeling instruction that includes teaching varied subject matter to students in a heterogeneous classroom.  City High’s looping model requires the teacher to provide instruction within the areas of biology, basic chemistry concepts, environmental and physical science from 9th through 12th grades.  Full time position includes a full medical, dental and vision benefit package and a salary range beginning at $48,500 depending on experience. City Charter High School, an urban public charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh, is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for the current 9th grade. Position involves coordinating support and assisting students with disabilities within a fully inclusive environment across all academic areas and collaborating with content areas to instruct, modify and adapt work for students. Position also includes writing all special education paperwork including IEPs, PBSPs, transition plans and progress monitoring reports. City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a teaching associate to work in collaboration with the 11th grade Math and Science Teachers. The teaching associate position involves assisting students of multiple ability levels within the Math and Science classrooms.

City Charter High School is looking to hire a part-time, building substitute to join our school community for the 2021-22 school year. The position will include working Tuesday through Friday on a weekly basis from 7:45 to 3:45 at a rate of $175.00 per day. The candidate must be flexible and comfortable in working with various content areas and high school aged students.

Certification Requirements:
If you hold a Pennsylvania public educator certificate or a professional-level out of state educator certificate, you may be eligible to become a day-to-day substitute.

Requirements for day-to-day substitutes:

  • Valid Pennsylvania educator certificate or out of state certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalency) if not certified
  • Background clearances
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien status (green card)


If you do not hold the proper certification but have a bachelor’s degree, City High will apply for an emergency permit for a substitute position.

City Charter High School, a public 9-12 charter school, located in downtown Pittsburgh is looking to hire a full-time School Safety Officer. 

With the aim of assuring a safe and secure school, whereby all school community stakeholders feel and contribute to the safety of the school, the School Safety Officer plays a pivotal role in this goal. A highlight of responsibilities includes: Work collaboratively as a part of a School Safety team and with school administration. Patrol and secure school floors and be present at end of day dismissal outside. Monitor lunchroom during student lunch periods. Respond to emergencies. Maintain order during conflicts and Incidents. Work with students on peaceful resolution of conflicts.
