City Charter High School is seeking a motivational individual to lead and direct the student transition process from high school to postsecondary education or work, including:
  • Design and manage the protocol to systematically provide services that ensure every graduate will transition appropriately.  
  • Help facilitate the development of individual student college and career plans in coordination with a student’s teacher advisor, learning support teacher (where relevant), career teacher, parent/guardian, and other relevant professionals.
  • Provide necessary support to enhance opportunities for success the year following high school graduation. 

Qualifications
A college degree and 3 – 5 years working in secondary education, college/postsecondary admissions, or comparable fields are required. A master’s degree in secondary education, counseling, or pupil personnel services is preferred. A track record of developing or working effectively within a successful guidance program. Salary Range & Benefits
Hiring salary range: $50,500 to $62,710; Negotiable based on experience.
In addition, City High provides a generous benefits package including a health
insurance, paid time off, an attendance monetary incentive, a 401k
retirement program (with matching contributions) and a 4-day school
schedule that includes alternating Mondays off.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

City Charter High School, an urban public charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh, is seeking a full-time Technology Teacher. The position requires the candidate to have proficient skills with the Adobe suite to implement the 11th grade curriculum in a full inclusion classroom. The position requires teaching technology applications including the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and various electives including Programming and Robotics. The position also supports the Financial Literacy teacher when looping down into the 9th grade for next school year. Ideal candidates must be certified in Business, Computer and Information Technology and be willing and able to design new technology courses that are relevant in today’s world.  

The position includes a salary starting at $50,500, and includes a full medical, dental and vision benefits package, 10 days of paid time off, 401k retirement plan, and an educational stipend for those interested in continuing education. Staff at City High also have the benefit of having every other Monday off of school (3-day weekend) leaving the other working Mondays available for professional development and co-planning.

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a teaching associate to work alongside the learning support teachers to support students with disabilities. The teaching associate position involves assisting students with disabilities within a fully inclusive environment across all academic areas and collaborating with the special education teachers to implement IEPs and progress monitor.

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a teaching associate to work in collaboration with grade-level Math and Science Teachers. The teaching associate position involves assisting students of multiple ability levels within the Math and Science classrooms.

City Charter High School is looking to hire a permanent building substitute to join our school community. The position will include working Tuesday through Friday on a weekly basis from 7:45 to 3:45 at a rate of $175.00 per day. The candidate must be flexible and comfortable in working with various content areas and high school-aged students.

Certification Requirements:
If you hold a Pennsylvania public educator certificate or a professional-level out-of-state educator certificate, you may be eligible to become a day-to-day substitute.

Requirements for day-to-day substitutes:

  • Valid Pennsylvania educator certificate or out-of-state certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalency) if not certified
  • Background clearances
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien status (green card)


If you do not hold the proper certification but have a bachelor’s degree, City High will apply for an emergency permit for a substitute position.
