Math Teacher
City Charter High School, a public 9-12 charter school, located in downtown Pittsburgh is looking to hire a full-time Math teacher. The position requires implementation of the interactive mathematics curriculum within a collaborative work environment involving a learning support teacher and/or teaching associate. Curriculum areas include algebra, geometry, trigonometry and pre-calculus and are integrated in grades 9-12. Candidates must be able to work with students of different ability levels within the same classroom and be able to build relationships with students. The position requires the teacher to co-plan with other members of the math department and learning support teachers.
The position includes a salary starting at $50,500, and includes a full medical, dental and vision benefits package, 10 days of paid time off, 401k retirement plan, and an educational stipend for those interested in continuing education. Staff at City High also have the benefit of having having most Mondays off (3-day weekend) leaving one working Monday per month for professional development, co-planning and parent-teacher conferences.

- Design and manage the protocol to systematically provide services that ensure every graduate will transition appropriately.
- Help facilitate the development of individual student college and career plans in coordination with a student’s teacher advisor, learning support teacher (where relevant), career teacher, parent/guardian, and other relevant professionals.
- Provide necessary support to enhance opportunities for success the year following high school graduation.
Qualifications
A college degree and 3 – 5 years working in secondary education, college/postsecondary admissions, or comparable fields are required. A master’s degree in secondary education, counseling, or pupil personnel services is preferred. A track record of developing or working effectively within a successful guidance program. Salary Range & Benefits
Hiring salary range: $52,520 to $65.219; Negotiable based on experience.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
City Charter High School is looking to hire a permanent building substitute to join our school community. The position will include working Tuesday through Friday on a weekly basis from 7:45 to 3:45 at a rate of $175.00 per day. The candidate must be flexible and comfortable in working with various content areas and high school-aged students.
Certification Requirements:
If you hold a Pennsylvania public educator certificate or a professional-level out-of-state educator certificate, you may be eligible to become a day-to-day substitute.
Requirements for day-to-day substitutes:
- Valid Pennsylvania educator certificate or out-of-state certificate
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalency) if not certified
- Background clearances
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien status (green card)
If you do not hold the proper certification but have a bachelor’s degree, City High will apply for an emergency permit for a substitute position.
