City High was thrilled to invite Mayor O'Connor as a guest during the Class of 2027 Modern Issues Club today.
The Modern Issues Club, started by Mr. Paul earlier this year, was created to give his students in Class of 2028 a space to find their voices and discuss current events. So far, there are twelve students involved in the club.
Students wrote a letter to the mayor a few weeks ago inviting him to visit the school for a Q&A with the club, but were surprised when Mayor O'Connor accepted.
During the visit, students asked Mayor O'Connor thoughtful questions about how his administration is planning to support Pittsburgh communities. Through asking these questions, the mayor was able to not only provide answers, but also explain how local government functions.
