Professional Highlights from the 2025-26 School Year
Conference Presentations
Mr. Carrington (Transition Manager), Mrs. Drummond (Internship Manager), and Dr. Green (Internship Manager) presented to the PHSP office at a Future Readiness conference. The three of them presented on the PHSP at the Future Ready Partnerships Conference (FRPC) on March 31 at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), Boyce Campus. Their presentation was titled "Beyond the Diploma: A Scaffolded Ecosystem for Workforce Mastery". It was a wonderful turnout and they were excited to highlight their office and the school.

Ms. DeLaRosa (Principal on Special Assignment) presented to Reimagining High School about City High's unique senior model at Avonworth High School. Reimagining High School is a part of a project involving six school districts—Avonworth, Butler, Burrell, Cornell, Jeannette, and Peters Township—to rethink what senior year looks like in their schools.
Advanced Degrees and Certifications
Ms. Baranowski (Class of 2030 Special Education Teacher) earned her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. This graduate-level credential, issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, qualifies her to design treatment plans, conduct behavioral assessments, and supervise assistant therapists working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral challenges. Becoming a BCBA typically takes 6 to 10 years of higher education and training.
Ms. Cottrell (Class of 2030 Science Teacher) completed her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with certificates in STEAM Education and Critical Digital Literacy from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2026.

Ms. Gonzalez (Class of 2028 Information Literacy Teacher) earned her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Pennsylvania State University in May 2026.
Mrs. Massucci (Class of 2030 Teaching Associate) received her Masters in Higher Education Administration from Southern New Hampshire University in May 2026.

Global Learning
Ms. Morgan (Spanish Department) participated in the Global Educator Weekend in Vienna, Austria from April 2-6, earning 25 professional learning hours. The experience focused on building global competency through experiential learning and gave her practical strategies to create more meaningful, globally connected learning experiences for our students.
