City High was thrilled to announce at the beginning of the school year that there would be a musical. A once-beloved City High tradition, the COVID-19 pandemic put a hitch in the annual performance. This will be the first time since 2019 that City High has been able to put together a musical for students to perform in.
The return of the musical has been a long time coming, with lots of behind-the-scenes work going into it thanks to staff organizers. Yet just under 30 students across all grades fill out the cast, and several others are working behind the scenes as crew, tech, and lighting members. Both performances on May 7 and May 8 sold out in under 48 hours, showing school community excitement for the return of this tradition.
The lead stars of
The Addams Family: Young@Part represented the cast at SLB Radio last Saturday to share about the performance. Matthew Stevenson (Gomez Addams), Marichka Zaikina (Morticia Addams), Tameara Robinson (Wednesday Addams), and Cheyanne Kepler-Rose (Pugsley Addams) were accompanied by faculty advisor, Ms. Bodnar at SLB. For most of the students in the cast, including these leads, this is their first on-stage experience.
