I love the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, but Kennywood is my clear favorite because I'm obsessed with roller coasters!

I arrive at City High bright and early to get a jump on the day's to-do list. I teach 4 science classes every day, then work with my Scientific Literacy Team to plan through my next lessons and grade student work before rounding out my day by meeting with my grade level team to debrief and plan ahead.
What initially drew you to City High?
While working at Carnegie Science Center, I had the opportunity to meet several City High student interns and was instantly impressed with their professionalism and dedication. I heard of a science teacher opening at City High, and Dr. Sofo invited me to a meeting. Instead of interviewing me, he gave me a tour of the building, told me the history of City High and its founders, and we talked about what I love about science education. From that point on, I knew I wanted to be a part of this progressive school community.
What do you love most about working at City High?
I love the teachers that I work with, both on Team 2027 and the science content team, and I love my students that I'm lucky enough to get to teach for four years. City High gives me a great opportunity to work with the same group of teachers and students over multiple years, allowing me to form lasting relationships with some great people!
Best advice for City High students?
I give this same advice to students every Friday for 12 trimesters over 4 years: "Have fun! Be safe! Behave!"
