When I am not in class, I am working with admin, the tech department, and teachers to make sure that everyone is feeling good about the technology that is being utilized in the classrooms.

What initially drew you to City High?

I actually learned about City High from my cousin, who was a teacher here when the school first opened in the early 2000s. She spoke so highly of her experience that City High was the first school I applied to after finishing my graduate program.

What do you love most about working at City High?

I often refer to my position as the English Electives teacher as my "dream teaching gig." I love writing specialized classes that give students space to explore specific topics in literature, poetry, and writing. Some of my favorites are Shakespeare, Horror Fiction, and the course on Pittsburgh playwright August Wilson that I get to co-teach with Mr. O'Connor each winter. Most of all, I love teaching City High students, who are enthusiastic, curious, and open to learning new things.

Best advice for City High students?

My best advice to them is to travel often, be kind to others, and be kind to yourselves.
