Internship Highlight: Breonna Engle Explores Bright Horizons

It is a rare and wonderful thing to watch a student find their calling in real-time. For City High’s Breonna Engle, her internship at Bright Horizon AGH has been more than just a graduation requirement—it has been the launchpad for her career.
Throughout her time at City High, Breonna has been known for her great work ethic and meticulous precision in completing tasks. Whether tackling complex coursework or navigating the fast-paced environment of a childcare center, Breonna views "reaching out as a strength" and challenges as opportunities to grow. It comes as no surprise that she was so successful during her internship with Bright Horizons.
What truly sets Breonna apart, however, is her "heart for the classroom." During her site visit, Bright Horizon staff members who mentored Breonna raved about her calming energy and ability to connect with children. Breonna’s naturally keen observation skills work to her benefit. She was able to watch how students interacted with each other and tailor her approach to meet their individual needs.
This dedication was on full display during her Graduation Action Project. Breonna chose to return to the very students she worked with at Bright Horizon, leading a series of reading sessions. Watching her interact with the children, it was clear that she wasn't just a guest, she was a beloved part of their community.
The team at Bright Horizon recognized Breonna’s talent early on, and they aren't letting her go. We are thrilled to share that upon her upcoming graduation, Breonna has been offered a full-time position at Bright Horizon.
Beyond the job offer, the facility has made a life-changing investment in her future: Bright Horizon has offered to pay for Breonna’s tuition as she pursues her degree in Early Childhood Education. This incredible sponsorship is a direct result of her punctuality, her "big smile," and the "industrious energy" she brought to the center every single day.
Breonna’s journey is a testament to what happens when hard work meets a kind spirit. The staff at City High and Bright Horizon are incredibly proud of her. We have no doubt that she will be a transformative Kindergarten teacher, and we are so excited to watch her continue to learn and grow.
