Recent City High graduate Alexandria "Alex" Glackin will be heading to the University of Pittsburgh this fall, where they will be a pre-med student. Alex hopes to eventually go on to become an anesthesiologist or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) after completing school.
In pursuit of this dream Alex has truly come into their own this year, demonstrating remarkable growth both personally and professionally during their medical field internship. Alex's mentor consistently praises their willingness to learn, natural optimism, and genuine compassion—qualities that will make Alex exceptionally well-suited for the medical field.
What sets Alex apart is their evolving confidence in communication and discovery of their relational strengths. They have found their element in the hospital setting, where compassionate nature and interpersonal skills—two things that they excel with—shine brightest. This self-awareness, combined with a dedication to developing their soft skills, positions Alex perfectly for success in their future medical career.
Alex's journey reflects the power of hands-on experience in revealing one's true calling. As they prepare to take the next step at the University of Pittsburgh, Alex carries not just academic knowledge, but the confidence that comes from having chosen the right path. Their commitment to continuous learning and natural ability to connect with others make Alex a student to watch as they pursue their dreams in healthcare.
