City Charter High School Senior Prom "Arabian Nights" is quickly approaching!  Friday, May 10, will be here in a blink of an eye!!!   We will celebrate from 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, 1000 Ft. Duquesne Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
 
Doors will open at 6:45 pm and all students must arrive by 7:15 pm.  If you are running behind for any reason, please be in contact with a friend or teacher who has already arrived. Students arriving after the doors have been closed will not be permitted in the dance nor will they receive a refund.  
 

• **All students and guests will be required to move through a metal detector as well as have their bags searched when entering the dance. 
• No students will be permitted to leave the dance before 10:30 pm. Please have all rides arranged for this time. 
• As a reminder, dancing will be outside.  We suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket for later in the evening. 

Permission slips
If you are planning to bring someone who does not attend CHS, they must submit a completed guest permission slip & meet all CHS guest guidelines.  ALL PERMISSION SLIPS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY, MAY 1, 2024.

Tickets
Guest tickets will be on sale now through Wednesday, May 1 ,2024.  The cost for a guest ticket is $85. A guest permission slip must be submitted in order to purchase their ticket.  

Dress Code- Photo Submission 
Please see attached information for all dress code details. All Prom attire pictures for students and guests should be sent to ciocco@cityhigh.org before Wednesday, May 1, 2024.  
 
Formal Pictures
We will have our school photographer offering formal pictures throughout the evening for couples, friends, and/or individual shots.  These photos are optional and can be ordered directly through Chuck, the photographer.  Just like our school pictures Chuck will provide a code to students who get their picture taken.  The code will give families access to view & order prints if they choose too. 

Arriving at the Convention Center
Parking: Students who plan to drive themselves to the dance will park in the Convention Center Parking lot located at 199, 10th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.  The cost of parking should not exceed more than $13 for the evening. 
 
Student Drop off: All students should be dropped off and enter through the West Lobby.  You will enter the building and ride the escalator to the 2nd floor.  Teachers will be there to direct you through the building and to the right location inside the building. 
 
ATTENDANCE 
ALL City High Students attending the Prom must be in school on Thursday, May 9 for the FULL day! 
 
We will not have physical prom tickets. You will check-in at the registration desk and will give you your ticket there. 
 
As a reminder, all students and guests agreed to the following terms and conditions in relation to the City High dress code and Code of Conduct. 

• If bringing a guest, guests must be at a minimum in 10th grade and at a maximum of twenty (20) years old. (Valid Photo ID Required.) All Guests MUST be enrolled, regularly attending, & in good standing at a recognized High School,  or a College, University, Trades, Apprenticeship or Training Program, or be Employed, if they have graduated.
• ALL City High Students and Guests must submit a completed and signed “City Charter High School Permission Form” in order to attend Prom.
• Prom attire MUST be approved before a ticket may be purchased/picked-up.  Please submit a photo of YOU & YOUR GUEST wearing the attire you plan to wear to the dance.  Photos must include a front and back picture.  Submit photos via email to ciocco@cityhigh.org before Wednesday, May 1,  2024!
• Dresses must cover the bust area, and strapless dresses must be securely fitted to ensure they stay up while dancing. 
• Dresses and splits cannot be more than 5” above the knee and must cover sufficiently when sitting and dancing. 
• Backless dresses must have at least 3” of the material above the buttocks. 
• Dresses made of Spandex/Lycra type fabrics that fit like a second skin, also known as “BODYCON” are not permitted.
• Two-piece dresses and/or cut-outs are not permitted, and the sides and midriff cannot have sheer (see-through) material. 
• Admission to the Prom will be denied for inappropriate attire and you will not be given a refund.
• Doors open at 6:45 PM
• No one will be admitted to the dance after 7:15pm, there will be no refunds. Also, no one will be permitted to leave until 10:30pm

All students attending the dance will conduct themselves in a respectful manner that is expected of all City High students.  You must follow the directions of the adult chaperones.  

• Arguing, fighting, foul/vulgar language, and obscene dancing is not permitted. 
• Weapons, drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products are strictly prohibited. Outside food & beverages are prohibited as well.
• Violations of this contract will result in removal from the dance.
