Distance Learning at City Charter High School
City Charter High School has always provided a strong Technology Curriculum and FREE laptop at the start of each student’s Freshman year. Since our inception, we have felt the importance of a technology-rich learning environment for our students and staff.
Trimester Two GO-Hybrid and FULL Livestream Ready Models
Under the Guidance of Pennsylvania Department of Education, Pennsylvania Department of Health, Allegheny County Health Department.
City High's enhanced distance learning models were designed to be flexibile and provide the safest learning environments while keeping a consistent learning schedule for students as we carefully follow the “Level of Transmissions” in Allegheny County
LOW LEVEL & MODERATE Community Transmission
4 - Full Day Model: Students come in-person two days per week on alternate days and join live-streamed classes on the other two days of the week.
No classes on Monday, but some teacher support is available.
Co-teachers will be placed in every classroom when possible.
During in-person days, the traditional City High model will be implemented including:
City High’s Full Livestream Ready model schedule is flexible and ready to phase back into and out of the GO Hybrid model. Parents may choose Full Livestream Ready for their student's entire Trimester 2 if desired.
MODERATE & SUBSTANTIAL LEVEL Community Transmission
City High’s GO-Hybrid schedule is designed for a flexible transition to full virtual schedule if needed, which means that the in-person days will simply take place virtually.
Advisory & Lunch would be combined for an hour break on virtual days
School work will be completed within livestreamed classes which will minimize additional independent work.
